I've seen a couple of those. Great sound on those vids and I love his technique. My octobans never sound that good!

Whoaaa! I love Simon. haha...
Especially "Harlem Nights" and "Cosmos" impressed me and the keyboard in Cosmos reminded me pretty much on Toto`s progressive tunes.
Amazing what he does.
thanks so much for these vids!!

Great videos.
I especially like the tama spandex tucked inside of his tube socks.

I got to play before Toto in Milwaukee last year. Everyone of them were very nice.
Best thing about it was sitting behind Simon during his set. He is a master of musicianship on drumset.

I was hanging out at Atlanta Discount Music in the late eighties when I looked up and saw a poster advertising that Simon Phillips was going to be there in clinic. I was currently into Rocks, Pebbles & Sand by Stanly Clarke (great album with Simon), so I was stoked. I looked up and it just so happened to be that day...in the next hour. I paid 3 dollars (which also included 3 kegs). So I sat there and drank beer while sitting directly behind Simon for 2 incredible hours. He went from drum tuning to style, technique, odd time etc...Rod Morgenstein just happened to stop by to check it out as well. I wish that was my Groundhog day.
