I was bored the other day going through musician's friend ad basically couldn't beleive what I saw! The Axis AL-2's were priced at $599.99 and the Axis XL-2's (usually the cheaper of the two) at $699.99

It's also the same at Music123.com! What gives? Did they revise the pedals? Or capitalizing on their new found popularity?

Recently I've been tossing the idea around of getting another pair but this turns me off if the prices are up and no revisions made.

PS not looking to cause trouble just surprised!

Midwest Percussion's site lists a cheaper price. And whatever their website lists they'll charge you even if they screwed up and listed it wrong. IE: I bought an SPD-S for 50 bucks cheaper than anywhere else.

I agree. I have one, I think they're overpriced.

When I walked out of GC with my AL-2 (in Classic Black), I paid $390.

The original price was $720. Told the salesman that he was smoking better stuff than me and that I would like to talk to the store manager. Told the manager there wasn't any way in Gods green earth that anyone was going to buy it at that cost. He did some dilly-dallying on his computer and spit out "How's $390?". I said "Sold".

Not sure why Axis is showing a little more expense on the sites listed above...inflation?

No Kidding!!!!! I got a deal from GC on a pair of XL-2's for $380! That's also how much I grabbed my current pair of DW9000's for. I've been tempted to see how much I could get them to come down on a pair of Trick Bigfoots

. Axis is made in America. Theres only one other serious bass drum pedal made in the USA.

China is currently buying up ALL the material they can get their hands on. Everything is going up

What is honestly so special about them, apart from that Derek Roddy uses them?

He OWNS with them, even to me, who doesnt listen to death metal....

Now, this is just me here...but "for the most part"...you get what you pay for. That concept is obviously blown away in some instances...but for me, I'm extremely pleased with the play, feel, and craftmanship of my AL-2.

I agree, they feel great and play great once you get them adjusted to your likings. But having played many other pedals I don't think they're that much better and warranting the price.

Is the web the best way to go about buyin axis pedals in ireland? It seems that none of the shops stock them. And if they order them in, they'll just rape my wallet. which is walking wounded as is.
