Now, i dont want to make anyone upset or anything about this Thread that im writing. I think this is going to end up being true for many people. Does this site not push you to want to drum more? It does me. Everytime I get on this website I feel like I am obliged to go out and drum even more. Not obliged, but even more encouraged. I feel encouraged by how everyone else help each other and are there for one another. We are all drummers and we all infuenced by people. Well Im influenced by everyone that is on this website.
For every 5 minutes that I am on, I go practice for ten. I feel that everytime now. I know that there are other Drummers out there that probably feel the same way. Drumming is my life. I eat, sleep and live drumming. I know that this isnt really a discussion of any type but this is just my way of leaving a little comment. I am very impressed with this site. Its our little getaway from everything else.

Nice post Joel. Like you experienced, this site has been a complete source of encouragement, let alone a wonderful instructional tool for me. Having 10,000 or so drummers along side you aiding you in all aspects is quite the experience, wouldn't you say? Not only aiding you, but allowing you to aid other drummers in thier journey.
I know that many members here share your feelings but may not express them as freely as you do. I share your enthusiasm.

ya drummerworld is definatly cool. before i came on here, i didn't know what a batter was. nor did i know what lugs are. just kinda knew how to play a beat
Joel,
I agree...this site has been in my world for quite some time now...when I first happened upon Drummerworld.com, I couldn't believe it! What?! A place devoted to just drummers? The best drummers, unknown drummers, drummers that made me go to the basement and practice?...yes...practice even more...videos, mp3, tutorials...wow...this place has it all...and Bernhard has been extremely congenial to this drummer...I even won in the Factory Metal giveaway contest! My website is on the links page...wow...maybe some day I'll make it to the "BIG show!"
But only if I stay inspired and play play play...and with this site around, I don't see any shortage of inspiration for me!
LONG LIVE DRUMMERWORLD...!
Peace,

I love DrummerWorld (affectionately known as "DW")!!!!! Everyone here is a dear friend. Here's a poem that I made up:
Ode to DW
I give a toast to DW
and to Bernhard and the Admins
If I have done anything wrong
I would like to make amends
I love you, DW members
when I think of you
my heart burns like an ember
because you understand me
Long live Drummerworld
an excellent title
for an excellent website
and it gives me a smile
...not the best rhyme scheme but its the thought that counts...
I'm no poet but at least I know it! lol.

This discussion forum provides an excellent source of information and is a convivial atmosphere for all who participate.
It wouldn't of been possible without Bernhard, DogBreath and Nutha's involvement.
Thank you.

i wish internet forums in general were around when i was first learning. this site in particular seems encouraging to the younger players especially.

i only know two other drummers, in the uk drumming is a much less popular hobby/life choice, i think it might be due to the lack of marching bands etc, i know its not an instrument that was ever really encouraged too much in any of my schools. One of these drummers is pretty sick of me trying to talk shop with him all the time, he's not nearly as enthusiastic as i am, the other guy is not as good as i am (not saying i'm that good cos i'm not), i keep telling him this is down to him not practicing enough, and he could be good even so he can get tired of talking drums with me. I think i'm getting throught to him though!!!!
That leaves drummerworld, i must visit here twice a day when i'm not working and about 5-6 times a day if i'm at work (on computer all day) it pushes me to learn my art and has taught me so much about gear and method and all the terms and styles there are. I owe so much of my passion being fed, to this site.
Plus i've seen nutha jason does lessons about 20 mins from my house so i might be having even more direct input from the site soon!

WOW, its almost been 2 years since I found DW.
My playing has improved so much over these years thanks to this forum. The most important thing i've learned from here, after nearly 40 years of playing, is HOW and WHAT to practice.
Plus, i've found your playing rises to the level of your surroundings, and the level at DW is very high. There are some truely incredible players on here.
WORLD WIDE INSPIRATION!!!!
What a great place, HUGE thanks to Bernhard, Dog, and NJ.

Found this site a few months ago and I love it. The videos are awesome... makes it so I don't have to sift through crap on you-tube, ha (Some you-tube vids are awesome mind you, but it's finding them that can be painful at times). Thanks to everyone who keeps this thing going =) .
