Hey, i have a question for you.

I have all the lugs/tension rods/rims for a 13x5 snare. All i need is a throw-off and a shell.

The thing is that i want to buy the shell pre-drilled. Do you know of anywhere i can buy a shell pre-drilled to my specifications for a decent price? (btw, its probably going to be maple).

Also, how many plys do you think i should get?

Saluda sells 'em, or try eBay.

Drummaker.com will drill them, cut bearing edges, snare bed, etc. Or if you want they can just do the layout and you do the actual drilling. There's a company called SMD (http://www.smddrums.com/) that does the same thing, but if I recall, they're a little more expensive.

I believe that whether you buy a pre-drilled shell or you buy a raw shell and have someone drill it, the price will probably be the same because either way you're paying for someone to do the labor to drill for the lugs.

i was going to have my dad do it.

Hes been doing construction/remodeling for the past 25 years so he has the expertise, i would have just rahter had it done professionally if it wasnt os expensive.
