i would recommend EC2 clear or coated for the batters, i have G1 clears on the reso, but i dont think they are SUPER, just O.K.

What style of music do you play?

What sound are you looking for?

What sizes are your kit?

Important things to note. Really, all Evans heads are great, it just depends on what sound you're after. You may like a more open sound of G1's, and a slightly more controlled/fatter sound of G2's. You might want to get an even more rounder and controlled sound from the EC2's...you may like the EC2 sound but want a single ply so EC1's are perfect. You may want that dead thuddy sound from the 70's, in which case Hydraulics are the right thing for you.

Personally, If this was the first time I was putting on new heads and had absolutely NO clue where to start, but wanted something good that will last you a while and make you happy until you learn what your tastes are, I'd personally go with G2's (clear or coated...coated gives a warmer sound) over clear G1's.

i have g2s coated all the way around. it just goes to what your prefrence and sound is.. i personally like the warm tone to the g2s and how they give my toms a "bite" so to speak.
