I saw a GP 61/2x14 maple snare with ten lugs in a natural finish that looked very nice at a local music store for $100, I could probably give them $75 cash and be gone. So my question is, "Deal or No Deal"?
Even the throwoff was nice for an inexpensive snare. Let's hear some reviews on this drum, please.
AT 75.00 YOU CAN'T GO WRONG...

no deal
You could find a used snare for 100 bucks and it will be 10 times better than groove percussion

I say why not. If it sounds good, feels good and looks good, what can ye lose? For $75, why not?
You don't sound like you've played the snare, only checked out how it looks. If it sounds really good, go for it, but otherwise - stay away. Groove Percussion isn't exactly high end, you'd be better off saving for something nicer.

Yeah you could buy an acrolite for a similar price, and that is ten times better.

I agree that you should play it first after all it is Groove Percussion. Trust I owned a set because they were given to me and they are the ultimate in crap. The shells were out of round, and the bearing edges are a joke.It is possible the maple drums go throught a little more quality control so PLAY and then pay. Good luck.
