Vic firth jazz rakes=wtf?

Alright, I fixed my brushes, and you were all a great help, but there's a serious problem I've come to realize is occuring.

I don't know if I'm forcing the brush too hard, or if it's shoddy construction or what, but I've been playing the jazz rakes on my snare all afternoon, and the entire time, the bristles on one of the brushes kept falling out one by one.

The first three, I just attributed to them being new brushes, probably not fixed on properly or something, but around the eighth bristle I've lost, I'm starting to think that there's something wrong with my brushes.

Is there any way to fix them? Or should I just return them and get some new ones?

Hmm never seen those jazz rakes before, just assumed they'd have a triangle.

These are good brushes. You might want to put a drop of oil on the shaft every now and then to keep them working smoothly.

XD they're disentigrating in my hands.

Bristles have been falling out all day ;-;

Take them back. When my drum teacher was teaching me brushes, he grabbed a new pair from the sales floor and the same thing happened to him. He said sometimes they aren't glued in right or something. If the store is any good, they should give you a new pair.

I have the same model and mine just lost its first wire today. I think I understand how parents feel now when their kid loses his first tooth.

Are these the shake-out, plastic brushes?

I say return them.

Vic firth surely have some cover from product malfunction in build quality, so they should replace them.
