Here it goes,
The first stave is a chest board with Maple, Walnut and 1/8" Santos Mahogany inlay14" x 9" x 1/2", the second one is a Sapele 14" x 5 1/2" x 1/2" The third one is Cherry 14" x 6 1/2" x 1/2".

I like the chess board stave.
Now since you go into different wood multiple stave layout, I'll post something to give you idea. I like the 3D effect it makes.

It's member of another forum and I think he's on Drumshed or Ghostnotes. I did not found his web site but the cie name is Euphonic Custom Drums.

I think a jaw-drop smiley needs to be made specifically for this thread. What color hardware are you putting on those, Unix? I'd love to see the finished result.
