Very nice.. Anything with Paiste's is OK in my book. It's like my one brand loyalty... lol

How do they sound?

Nice kit, classic lines, good sizes (I like big drums). I run mostly all Yamaha hardware myself (single braced 600/700 series stuff) and it's more that enough for what I need and a heck of a lot lighter than the double-braced stuff I was using for years and years. Welcome to Drummerworld.

I got everything sounding pretty good but I cant seem to make myself believe the floor tom is as good as it can sound. I think I need to play with the bottom head but I'm not to good with that. I love the big bass drum. I'm in the market now for some better hardware and a DW 5500 TL hi hat stand. I hope to get my 18 crash and 18 or 20 china soon as well. I love keeping with one brand as well. I was that way with Sabian years ago but I liked the newer Alpha's a lot.

Try putting a thicker head on the bottom of the floor tom and see what ya think

I will try that now. Thanks

From a purely aesthetic standpoint, might I suggest getting a smooth white reso, or maybe a hydraulic blue reso for that bass drum?

Other than that, fantastic kit.. Alphas are probably some of the best mid-range cymbals available, and paired with the M Pros.. you've got yourself a fantastic little kit there.

Very nice! Plan on getting that 18" tom or are you not a Bohnam copier?

I was thinking the same thing about the bass drum head. White or Blue. I had the option to get the 18'' floor tom as well but I was thinking I need to get my skills back up to speed first. Anyone that can help me find a 24" gloss white bass drum head I would love it. Thanks for the complements as well!!

The Evans EQ3 Smooth White is exactly what you're looking for if you want a great, ported resonant head. If not, I'm not completely sure Evans has a nonported smooth white, but Remo does.

If he would do that he would have 3 floortoms, that seems a little bit impractical to me...

I have a ProM studio kit in the Blue Ice color.. it's beautiful. They discontinued it too, which makes our kits even more rare. Hope you like it as much as I like mine. You could get a coated ambassador 24" for the front.

i just got a similar 4pc mapex pro m in bermuda blue sparkle and it is in the thread above this one (although it would seem once i have posted this message, this thread will then move up so we would no longer be neighbours)

anyway, nice kit. the mapex hardware is extreamly good quality. may i recomend the cymbal/tom stand. it gives you alot of freedom as to where you can have your rack tom and condenses 2 stand into one.
