Hey All,

I'm new to this forum and thought i'd post my setup.
A little bit about me; I'm 17 from the Gold Coast in QLD, Australia.
I started playing drums in primary school for the school band, but when
i hit high school my interest switched to guitar. After 4 years of guitar
i got back into drums. I'll cut to the chase, here we have my second kit... =)

I own an M Birch kit as well and I think they are great drums. Your set looks great. How do you like the G2 coated heads on the birch?

I think you can fine tune your tom angles soo things might be a little more comfortible but hey, whatever works for you man.

Interesting- 16x13, not used to seeing that...very different.

Thanks guys, yeah everything is brand new, they arrived this morning.
Stilling fine tuning angles and which feels comfortable. As for the B8s,
i got them for 1/3 price with the kit which is great to muck around all but
once i repatch the hole in my pocket ii'll be checking out the AAX's and the K's.

As for heads, I had a listen to most of the evans stuff, these were my favourite for toms.
Eventually i'll upgrade the kick and snare when needed. In which i'll probably
go remo ambassdors or emperor on the snare and super-kick II for well the kick.

That looks like a very nice studio. Is that bad boy in your house?

Yeah it is built in the basement - room within a room concept. Its about 34sqm / 370sqf.

hey how'd you get the last picture? is it a certin lense or is it some application in photoshop?

Yes, it is a "Fisheye" Lense.

A few cosmetic ideas:
I don't know if you care, and it doesn't really matter, but I always line up my drumhead logos with the mount on the tom. I think It looks good that way.

Also, It may be worth a try, and increase your mobility around the kit to lower your rack toms a bit.

Nice kit though, and sweet studio.

Yes i agree, when i bought the kit they put the new heads on for me
and since then i haven't had the chance - since building the studio.

Hey that's a great kit. I have the same kit in the same finish but in Fusion. Yeah I'm thinking of getting coated G2s next as well, would you recommend them?

Oh and do you find the hanging floor toms are a little unstable? My 14" is a bit wobbly and everything is as tight as they go...

Celereon: Yes for sure, i tried most of the evans and they were my favourite.
I didn't have the chance to try out the coated emperors or ambassadors thou.

No, they were fine - i've adjusted them since that photo was taken when i first
set the up in the studio. =)

Thank you, I will try them. I'm not going to go with Remo coated heads because I know that the coating wears out quickly.

How do those g2's fare on the birch kit?

I prefer the coated heads; i find they are a bit more controlled as far as overtones
as well as they sounded a bit "drier" with more attack / tone and they record easy IMO.

I'm looking at the Mapex kits, looking at getting a 6 piece one in Honey Amber. I hear they're pretty great!
Very nice, it all looks brand new.

Ive been looking at getting Coated ambassadors aswell, they sound great to me.
