hey, I thought I'd throw up some pics of my new bass head that I had a friend do some art on. It's Yggdrasil, the Word Tree of Norse mythology, the four stags: Dvalinn, Dáinn, Duneyrr, and Duraþrór. Also Veðrfölnir, the eagle (or falcon, or cock) is at the top of the tree. It's pretty tight at any rate. the other pics are just a couple before and during the show. Enjoy guys!

p.s. all of the Norse mythology stuff, is because we are writing a nine-piece suite about the mythology, and we have written the overture (with lyrics) so far.

Awesome, looks really cool, I love it. Especially the whole mythology theme, being a 'fan' of fantasy and mythology myself (not familiar with any of the Norse mythology though, unfortunately). How did your friend apply the art on the head?

if your a fan of fantasy and such, you may recognise some of the stag names, Dvalinn and Dainn (Dwalin and Dain) from Tolkien's The Hobbit. I was gonna edit that into my post, but I can't.

Yeah, I'm a great fan of Tolkien's work! I instantly recognized the names ;) The dwarfs :)

Thats really cool. I would like to get a white head and get some awsome artist to do stuff on mine. That would be tight.

Very cool. I wish i couldd draw like that. Dont know what i would on my b-reso. Maybe il plaster and paint my bass drum to make it look like a pirate's cannon.

Ah, ok, cool... And how did your friend solve the problem of the head not being like thight(sp?) when no tension is applied? or did he draw it directly on to the head as it was on the bassdrum? I'm interested because I've been wanting to get some image on my bassdrum head, and with your great result I think i'll get one of my friends (who is also an artist) to do something for me. Hehe. (:

And yep, I recognised the names. (:

Actually, since it's a sharpie I didn't have to worry about tension or anything like I would have had to with paint or something else. He just took the head home, figured everything out in pencil, then went ahead and put it on there. I highly suggest it if you want a cool, cheap, and good looking bass head.
