Very nice work there. How do they sound in relation to each other?

The oak snare is very loud and has a nice crack. The stave shell is about 5/8" thick.
The 6x14 poplar shell is lower pitched that the oak shell, has a pretty decent crack.
The 5x12 of course is the highest pitched with an incredible crack.

I'm still interested in those.
That's a JTP shell.

What is the stain on the top shell?
I'm looking for something ALMOST that orangey when I start in on my eventual project, although I aim to go satin, just a stain, and then oil over it.
Regardless of my plans, those are all beautiful drums.

Thanks to all who have responded!
What I did on the oak shell was I stained the shell red, let it dry, sanded it a little then put a coat of orange stain over it.
It turned out pretty cool.

Nice work !!!!!! Where do you get your badges made? I am building a few snares myself and would like to have some custom badges made with my name.
Thanks
