Special Bass Drum Heads

Hey everyone,
so i'm upgrading my set and I'm trying to find a certain bass drum head. where can I get those custom heads that bigger drummers have. They are coated and the holes are outlined with something that looks metallic. I believe orange county percussion puts them on their sets. Is there anywhere I can buy just the head?

You can buy an Evans EQ3 resonant which comes with the hole already there, you can buy any resonant head and cut the hole with either a hot can or holz/aquarian porting kit, or you can get an adjustable muffling one like the Evans EMAD Resonant or Aquarian Regulator.
Pick one.

thanks for the response, but thats not what i' talking about. I'm talking about a head like this

the ones with the metallic ring around the holes. i know ocp makes it but is there a way to buy just the head?

I don't think that you can buy these particular heads with the metallic holes already there like the one shown in the picture. I would suggest a coated Remo Powerstroke head with the chrome Remo Holz system. Go to the Remo website and see for yourself. Happy hunting!

Yeah, it's an old trick. I used it on my reso. It works quite well because it melts through the head in a perfect circle (assuming your can isn't bent/distorted!) and because the edges are melted, they're a little thicker and it helps prevent ripping. Just remember to wear thick/heat-resistant gloves when heating the can one the stove ;) Don't want any burns on those drumming hands

I did it outside on the ground. Came up great.

I use a Remo Ambassador Coated as reso, and I just bought a Holz, it is very easy to apply.
