I posted pics of this kit on the "gear" forum. Take a look if you're interested.
I'm a bit rusty as I haven't played in a while, but you can get a general idea of what the drums sound like.
Enjoy!!

ArtyZ,
Oh yes love the sound of Rogers XP8's. I have a Mist blue set. Very nice sound and I hope Yamaha does it right when they bring them back. I hope it will not be the NAMM crap. If they made em like the XP8's I would be all over it. Eat your heart out DEEE DUB YA nothing like a Rogers.... and 70% less money for that sound......
PS. Nice CHOPS as well.....

The recording through my camcorder is fair at best. But the sound of the drums can be distingushed pretty well.
That's really all I wanted to demonstrate.

I agree with the snare comment above...I hate those idiots on youtube who just troll around and post comments on everyone's videos teling them how much they know, or this or that sound horrible etc...
I personally think you have great chops, your kit is beautiful, and I love the sound!!! I personally like your snare sound...Nothing like a deep, low pitched snare to warm up a set...I agree with what you posted in your reply too...Your snare sound accents your toms perfectly :D
Excellent VID thanks for posting it!!!

Love the bass drum.
My bass drum size is 14x24. I use NO padding at all. The only concession I use for sound control is a Remo Pin-Stripe head on the batter side. The inside of the drum is EMPTY. Just wood in there.
Through the use of tuning, I eliminated almost all of unwanted overtones. I just had patience. Experimenting with tuning the batter and resonant heads allowed me to achieve the sound I wanted. Additionally, without any pillows or blankets in the bass, it is much louder and sounds like a drum.., not a table top. NONE of my drums have any padding or mufflers at all. I want to hear the drums.., nothing else.
Drums ring. Deal with it. Ya can't hear that ring over guitars, vocals, etc anyway,
Arty Z out!

I had a late 60's Holiday blue sparkle set, with a dynasonic snare. I loved that set. Wish I still had it.

ArtyZ,
Thank you for directing me to this video. I like the sound of the kit very much. I also don't agree with one of the posters on YouTube that your snare sounds crappy. I think that it sounds just fine.
Nice sounding drums!!
PS You have decent chops and grooves. It's good to see some old school R&R being played.

YouTube seems to have too many uneducated folks posting opinions. I wonder if they post just to stir up emotions.
The comment about "Your Mother" is just plain weird! I looked at that guy's video response and it seems clear to me that he is just about above the beginner stage. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but to make statements like he did is unacceptable. It is so apparent by your drumming that you have experience that unwarrants such comments.
PS I really like your playing and the way your drums sound.
Rock on!

I just responded to your pics thread, and said that I bet they sounded great. I found out they do! Wow..very nice. I especially like the wide open bass drum. I agree that the idiots on youtube saying the snare sounds like crap don't know what they're talking about.
Don't worry about the kid who posted a response video and the "Your Mother" comment. Just some teenage loser who has nothing better to do with his life.

Loved the sound of that kit, seriously !! What are the specs of the whole kit. The snare did not sound like crap, it sounds great. Really liked the chops.

Thanks for the comments. For sizes, see the first photo. It not only gives drums size, but also cymbal type and size.

I think that you are a really good drummer. Your foot is especially fast. The triplets that you play are clean. Do you use them when you play with a band?
I also like your cymbals and the way you play them. So many people overplay the cymbals, but in this solo it is done tastefully.
So hard for me to tell everything that you are doing as you are lefty. I can't figure out some of the things going on.
Great job!!
Tammy
