let's collect some drum duets and discuss them here.

this one with Chris Whitten and Danny Cummings during a dire straits concert is always satisfying. Chris leaves nice space for danny to do his thing gradually building intensity to the end. a great team. (the duet is at 6:20 of the video)

and then there is this one which was the first drum solo/duet i ever saw as a kid. this really turned me on to drumming. Chester Thompson and Phil Collins ...

Oh yeah, that track is one of my DS live albums. Brothers in Arms maybe I dunno. I love that song and the duet makes it that much better. I gotta get that DVD. Anyway, awesome duet!

I wish I could post a video link (I wish a video existed!), but the great Jeff Porcaro used to tour with the great Jim Hodder in early Steely Dan days. There is a live version of Boddishatva and Chain Lightning out there somewhere which features both drummers playing together.

The Drumbassadors. I don't know why these guys aren't more famous than they are, they are insane.

No video clips here, but there are two great drum duet albums I have. "Rich Versus Roach"--Buddy Rich and Max Roach, and "Philly Joe Jones and Elvin Jones: Together!"--fairly self-explanitory there.

duet may not be the proper term, its a little too hard rock---

I was thinking to make a new thread about this one, but why not bump this along the way?

Seriousely, I have no idea why Carmine Appice get so praised, his brother beats the crap out of him. Look at their shout and answer stuff near the ending, that one fast fill little Appice does and big brother follows with something a five year old could do.

Can't believe no one's mentioned the collaborative solo of solos... Gadd, Colaiuta and Weckl at the Buddy Rich Memorial!

Not really a duet but this is about a good as it gets for group drumming.
Steve Gadd, Vinnie Colaiuta and Dave Weckl.

Enjoy

Yup, it's so great that it deserves two links, right after each other!

I think one of my favorite drum & percussion duets (solos) is Steve Gadd and Ralph MacDonald on the Tom Scott live album ... Apple Juice.

That is pretty much my favorite as well. Steve was awesome and so was every other one, but in my opinion Steve pwned them all.

But yes that is my favorite Duet, I could watch it for a long period of time and not get bored with it.

Hi there I'm wondering if you guys had any scores for some drum duets (even basic ones) I'd love to practice on one with a friend.
Thanks
