Hello, I've recently been wanting to upgrade from my piece of brass ZBTs. I was looking at Paiste 2002's, but they are a bit pricey.. I want a classic rock/Bonham sound out of my cymbals.. Can anyone steer me in the right direction, I'll take any brand or whatever... And relatively small budget too... I play classic rock, blues, funk, jazz, and folk..
Thanks

well Bonham himself used the Paiste 2002s if you didn't already know that.

I might check out used cymbals from ebay, craigslist, cymbalsonly, cymbalceller or other such sites. If you have to buy new, generally you have to throw down the paper for it.

Yeah I look at those places regularly but I don't know what cymbals to look for...

I talked to this drummer kid at my school today about my problem and he told me to try Sabian Vault or Paragon.. Have any of you guys heard/played/own these two types? Would they sound good in a classic rock/blues/jazz band?

If you want good cymbals... they're all going to be pricey. Vaults are great cymbals... but you need to go out and hit some and see what YOU like.

IMHO, I wouldn't use paragon or vault because it is to my understanding that they are for rock not jazz. Try Sabian HHX or Zildjian A.

Yeah I wish I could, don't get me wrong I love my local music store, but they have very little cymbal selection... They do have a nice A ping ride that I like though..

I'll try those out next time I see some HHX's
Thanks guys
