Hi all! :D i just played a bit of funk ! If you want check this out, if you don't, no prob:D
I'm very sorry for the awful sound of the cymbals... and cause the most of the melodies are played on the ride... i played a couple of bars on the tom's rim just to le you ear what's going on, bt it's notthe same as ear the ride ..
thank you !

Nice vid. Though the camera is a bit crazy sometimes I like it. :-D
Oh, and I see that you also worked with some Hi-Hat step-hit stuff. My drum teacher showed me some of that and I find it extremly funky.
Okay, I overall I saw many other great ideas....the main thing is that you groove.
PS: Jason, I also thought that it is Benny who sits down. lol And another note about the camera: Man, you can really hear that it is all digital. Sometimes (for example at 5:22 mins) you can hear a fast "blingblangblungblang" in high and different pitches as you may know it from Sci-Fi films when a working PC is shown.

Yes I never studied it as A sistem or a routine but when you usually listen to funk it became part of your playing, I had some pages from Skip hadden about hi hat step called stepping that are very intresting. but i never found time to study these pages :(
Karl thanks for the support, cause sometimes i lack confidence in my self as most of you i guess, and it's GREAT that sometime I can get a sort of REVENGE with myself... you know it's always up and down for me... OK STOP COMPLAINING!!
lol the blingblangblongblung it's CRAZYY!!! if you pay attention you can ear a melody in it!! lol AhHAHhA
Ciao!!
