Cool for you!! It's a real nice feeling when one learns something new, especially if it was hard to learn!

Isn't heel toe like all other techniques in that it takes a while to get the motion down and then once you do, you slowly develop it while building speed etc. or is it this thing where you can't do it and then suddenly 'BAM!', you've got it and can go really fast?

Well, I can't speak for everyone but I developed my heel-toe technique slowly. I don't think it's really different than any other technique. And Axis27, I don't think you can really master a technique, especially over a short period of time. There's always room for improvement. Once you have speed developed, you can really concentrate on your control.

To put it frankly, that didn't sound like mastery of heel-toe. Work on keeping the time and dynamics consistent, and you'll sound a lot better.

When i said mastered i didnt mean "I got it down perfect". I meant that this is my progress for a week and a half into it. Obviously im not going to have it perfected in a weeks training. -Jp

You don't need longboards if you use the ball of your foot instead of your heel. I have size 15 feet, but they don't hinder me the least bit using this version of the technique. I use a standard gibraltar single pedal. If I have time, I'll make a video on it tomorrow.
