Lightweight Bass Drum Beater

I'm looking for light bass drum beaters made of plastic or wood. I can't seem to find any..I have seen a blue bass drum beater that looks very light, does anyone know what they are?

Just to give you an idea, right now I have tama hard rubber beaters and they feel very heavy.

Actually you should try a lightweight beater before buying. With lighter beaters you might lose some power in a simple stroke compared to whatever you are using now.
Your bass drum form will have to change due to the different weights.
Just throwing that out there.

I think the blue one you saw is made by Puresound. I have no experience with these, but I know Carter Beauford was using them for awhile.

I've used a light beater before, it was from the pedal that came with my export kit. I only have one so I keep it at school for jazz. I don't like the sound of it, but I like the feel. I'm learning blast beats right now and I can feel the pedal dragging along...I need something light for metal.

If you want one made of wood as you said, i would suggest kick rods. I think they are on the pro mark website. They are pretty much hot rods instead of a normal beater. Check em out.

He didn't mean a beater like that I'm pretty sure; just a normal wood or plastic beater that is a lot lighter than his current one.

I'm drumming for a death metal band and I highly reccomend slug beaters. I personally swapped my stock DW beaters in the 9000's for the green power head model. Lots of power and light weight (3.75 oz total). I'll be picking up the jazz models with the titanium shafts as soon as I can scrape up the cash. Check out their site @ www.slugdrums.com
