Well, you sight down in a big room, and about 5or6 famous drummers give a mini clinic.
Then they sign stuff afterwards, and if your lucky you get to chat to them.

Went to it today, i was really impressed, bought a kit and cymbals aswell.
Does anyone know the track that Jojo Mayer played as his last song? I didn't catch the title or artist, but it sounded quite good.

Yea the views's great you can see the drummers perfectly, and there are screen for close-ups if you want to see the footwork or other angles.
I'm no good at estimating so i dunno how many where there, but there were quite a few, maybe around 300 (? that could be miles off)

I went last night.
Everyone was so Awesome!!!!!
My favorite was defiantly Benny Greb though, but Omar and Keith were awesome too.
I picked up some bargains too.
A Janus double pedal, a mapex throne, tons of brushes, sticks and hot rods, and heads too.
I had fun.....

The evening at the Northampton gig on 8 August started with Dave Mackintosh who played two pieces, but for my money he was very much the weak link on the night. His playing was very samey for the whole time and lacked any feeling, dynamics or syncopation. Lots of fast rolls across the kit and not much else.
Benny Greb was such a complete change. He was fun to watch and to listen to and his versatilty around his kit (and also Keith Carlock's behind him on a couple of occasions) was amazing. He finished off playing his drums with his hands and then himself with his hands. His Sonor kit sounded great.
Johnny Rabb turned up with guest performer Pete Lockettand did an electronic set with Pete's tablas and Pete's voiced percussion. A drum and bass feel with both obviously really enjoying themselves. I wasn't expecting too much when he came with his billing as the world's fastest drummer ( who cares how fast anyone is! - it's not the point) but his set in no way revolved around speed for its own sake.
Keith Carlock was simply awesome. I saw him with Steely Dan a month ago and loved his drumming and I bought a ticket for Drumfest to see him again up close. Like Benny his kit sounded fantastic and the sheer virtuosity and energy he puts into his playing was something else for me. As a relative beginner I could almost be inspired to give up drumming because he is so good!
Omar Hakim rounded off the evening with a set on his Roland kit. I don't think the V drums have anything of the quality of the acoustics played by Benny and Keith but his funk medley which was the finale was brilliant.
All in all it was a fantastic evening of (mostly) virtuoso playing.

I went to the Birmingham show, first time i'd been to drumfest and i was really impressed with the line-up
I did feel sorry for dave macintosh when he had trouble with the volume of his backing tracks when he was playing but was really intruiged when he spoke about how he has adopted the heel-toe technique for his playing, that was really inspiring to hear
but who really blew me away, gotta be benny greb, i'd never heard him before and I was just so transfixed all the way through his slot...the way he approaches his playing is in a way i've never really experienced before (spose it says alot about my open-mindedness really doesn't it lol)
unfortunately i had to leave before the end so i missed omar hakim (gutted) but i valued what i saw for definate, been experimenting with all sorts of new thing with my kit since.

I think a lot of people didn't see what he did.
From the lack of posts about it I guess no-one from the forum went to Brentford yesterday.

Brentwood drumfest was awesome, my favorites was benny, jojo and Kieth carlock. it was a shame that jojo mayer could not play any of his songs as there was some technical faults.
