I'm sure I read somewhere he used 2B's.

He may have used 2B's to begin with, but later on in his career, as his technique changed (but thundering power remained) he started using thinner sticks, like 5Bs.

He actually only used 5B's

There was a recent interview with his son Jason, and he said that Bonzo only used thin sticks.

He got the thundering sound through good wrist technique.

I think I saw, a post someplace that said he used a Ludwig model 2S or something?you might be right because early in his career they used to say that his sticks look like "Lincoln Logs" whoa, but then later in his career he learned to get the same volume out of the drums without hitting them as hard.

If you freeze-frame vids from '69 ..sticks look narrow ..look like 5A's to me.

I have heard the same thing many people have said: he used "tree trunks" until about Zeppelin III then he learned more wrist control and downsized his sticks..

Sticks look the same on all the vids/photos I've seen so far, even down to the last tour. The clearest one is on pg-138 of the book "Led Zeppelin: The Story Of A Band And Their Music" ..anyone have the book? ...shows it clearly, but the taper looks kinda thin for a 5B.
