I recorded a new version of a classic "Deep Purple" song with me playing the drums. It was done with no rehearsal and also one take. Enjoy!

That's a fun song to play. Personally, I like to stick to a very simple rock beat with little variations throughout the song. Less is more!

Thank You for the reply. I though about playing this old song straight forward. In the end I figured I might as well snap it up a bit. As a drummer the band you play behind does not really care for you to drum so openly on a song. So I simply took advantage here..

Sounds pretty nice...but you have to work on your timing.
Remember that you are actually the motor of the band, that you are leading, that you are the rhythm. Try to make your beat straighter, keep up this mental strength.

Imagine that this mental strength would be a twine. For good playing you would have to stretch this twine, to get the concentration, the consistency.
You need to be relaxed and you need balance to stretch it consistently.

But never disrupt this twine (your strength).

Hope you know what I wanna tell you.
Sometimes it begins in your head.
Other than that it was solid, I like your ideas!

PS: Your drums sound huge!

Keep it up!

Karl

Smoke on the Water? Ian Paice? Easy??? I think not sir! For the guitarist, sure. Some of those stroke fills are deadly.

well, not the whole song, the song is bad, we just played that main beat that everyone knows over and over, just because its so easy and everyone could play it

Thank you very much for your wisdom. Your drumming theory is much regarded to future endeavors. I think I should actually rehearse a song once before recording also. I'm in this big hurry too record and share. I'm currently working on my first CD. It will be refined with many rehearsals. Keep a future eye out for it. It my surprise a few.

god you set sounds really good
playing wise everything is pretty good only thing is that the fills got a little repetitive maybe make more of an effort to do alot of different fills in this some in particular because your doing so many fills

Thank you for your kind reply. And yes I filled the songs with many fills. I wanted the drums to be busy and Carry the song if you will. Just something different. Here is a link too my Kit and also more drum tunes.
