That's definitely a sweet looking Ludwig kit. The new black oyster is so different from the vintage ones, much whiter overall. Is that the 20 or 22" bass? You'll love it though. The finish. The sound. The hardware. Everything. The Ludwig Rocker Pro pedal with the plate is a great value too.

Just to compare price, 1965 Ludwig: http://cgi.ebay.com/1965-Ludwig-Drum-Set_W0QQitemZ130095020987QQcategoryZ64440QQrdZ1QQc mdZViewItem

That's a nice vintage Ludwig kit, but it's Blue Oyster and it looks like the wrap is coming off on the floor tom. I guess you'd rather get the vintage kit, I know new kits lose there value as soon as you walk out the door, but I've had vintage kits, I guess I would just like a bran new Ludwig kit.

Yep,Juststickin',you will definately enjoy this kit. I own this kit myself. I am jealous because I paid $1600 for mine with another $500 spent on an extra floor tom directly from the Ludwig factory. However, the pain of purchase goes away every time I sit down to play this kit and I rather like the more "modern" update of the oyster pearl finish.Makes me feel like I'm on the the ground floor of something unique.I'm after assuming the price is based on the fact that Guitar Centre and Ludwig no longer do business and that Guitar Centre just wants to get its leftover Ludwig product off the floor and out the door...Please let us know when you've made the purchase and tell us what you think....

That looks like a Guitar Center sign., Yes? Thats 800 dollars cheaper than Musicians Friend. Grab it if its the same thing. and I just remembered that GC is no longer carrying Luddies.

That's a good price, however those are the Accent line. The one I'm looking at is the American made maple kit, I doubt if GC would go down that low, but you never know.
