I didnt really understand anything there. I think he said something about doubles at the begining, looked like singles to me and sounded like em too.

No, I've known about it for ages, in fact I'm doing it just now. It really helps with acceleration on the pedals. Try it its free on his website (http://www.georgekollias.com).

they're singles. does/can he do double taps? i.e when a person with a single pedal like myself gets two notes off one motion? id like to see a video on that b/c that is so much more useful to me.

I don't think he uses doubles...

But from what I can tell after watching a video from George giving a clinic on Holland about the 3 levels. Is that it is doing quarter notes, then 8th notes and 16th notes.

Level 1: Quarter notes - Full leg motion dropping the heel only on each foot with each quarter note

Level 2: 8th Notes - Motion changes a little bit. This the syncronated feet, I think:P playing 8th notes with each foot.

Level3: 16th notes - This is the best part :P. In this part you lift your heels from the pedals but you DO NOT USE the whole leg motion BUT use your ANKLE. Believe me, it works for sure ;)

but dosnt it get tiresome to have your legs suspened in the air for prolonged periods of time while you flick your feet at the ankles ?

I think playing that way in heel down would be ok too

Yes, but that is exactly how it's done. I hung out with Mike Machine at the last NAMM and that's just what he did. Heel up, ankle motion.

You'll have to find a good seat position. I find that if I sit a little higher it takes some strain off of my low back as I play heel-up long rolls.

You'll have to develop the muscles in the low back, abs, hip flexors (stretch those babies too) and butt in order to be able to do this for long periods of time. It takes time and comes easier to some than others but it can be done with dedication.

Practicing heel down helps with ankle development but doesn't really do much for the whole hip/glute region.

Guess what? Start slowly and work your way up. (Surprise, surprise!)

Good luck.

BTW, George is incredible with the feet
