Oak Custom

Has anyone got or had experience with the Yamaha Oak Custom?
I searched but couldn't find any threads on this kit.
I hear it's a very loud and projecting kit, but any more info would be great.

I have a oak custom in silver sparkle. 20x16 10x8,12x9,14x14,14x5.5.small drums but powerful. They have a lot of punch. Its funny everyone seems to think they are so loud. I have a starclassic maple in power sizes and the maple are just as loud if not louder. The only drum that may be louder is the snare.The bass drum is very powerful for a 20. To me the drums have a nice mid range punch to them. I've tryed coated ambassadors, smooth ambassadors, pinstripes, but they sound best with the clear ambassadors (the yamees factory remos). Great sound for the money.$1500 out the door.(shell pack) The starclassic sound a little better for twice as much. But I bet if your 10ft. away you would have a hard time hearing the difference. The starclassic stay at home, the yamahas go where they want. Good luck.

Oak customs are one of the kits that are on my list of things to pounce on if they pop up on ebay in Aus with good sizes and price.

That is so Larlev.
I love my Delites, but I want to get more into a heavier/rock sound.
The opportunity came up, and I think I'll be swinging a deal for his Oaks plus cash.
The Oaks are only a year old, perfect condition, and sizes are 8/10/12/14/16/18/22.
Saw them last night and they are impressive..very punchy to say the least.

Oak Customs are amazing! They're Yamaha so you know that they will do you justice. They're very loud with amazing attack. Gotta love the Oak Customs. You definitely won't be dissapointed with them if you're looking for a more heavier rock sound or any sound for that matter.
