Drum Cases and Bags

I've looked but I can't get a decent quote on SKB cases. I'm looking for cases for....
toms
-8x8, 10x8, 12x9, 14x14, 16x16
snares
-13x5.5, 14x5.5
bass
-20x18
cymbals
-hats, splash, 2 crashes, ride, chinese
and of course a/some case(s) for hardware
How much would this cost me? Would it cost under $1000 US?

Check out Midwest Percussion, their site has a great section for bags and cases. You can price everything right there including shipping.

I assume these are hard cases, unless SKB has come out with a line of bags.

With any luck, you could get all of this for around $600 I think. I have Hardcases (and an SKB golf travel case for hardware) and a Humes and Berg cymbal vault - those are all good quality brands and about comparably priced.

I encourage you to get hard cases. They will give your precious drums the ultimate in protection and serve you for a lifetime.

Thanks. The title was wrong but I am going to get hard cases because I'm planning on doing some real gigging in the future.

Last time I checked there was a site called www.interstatemusic.com and they had some good cases.

The best cases in my opinion are Protection Racket cases.

But im not sue if you can get them outside of the UK.....

I have been using the protechtor cases and they are very good except that their foam isn't very durable.

I wanted to get Protection Racket, but they are hard to get in the US. My drums are square sizes and getting custom PR cases in Idaho wouldn't even be possible.

Instead I got Hardcases (www.hardcase.com), another British-made product. It took about six months to get all the cases. Hardcases are also hard to get here and my local store had to order from different wholesalers as no one had all the drums in.

But I'm glad I waited. I'm very pleased with my Hardcases. One of my drums could fall out of a car at freeway speed and remain unharmed. Plus, British-made gear has a certain mystique over here.
