hello
which one aquarian kick head will be the best for 20/18 mapex pro m bass drum? I'm pretty sure I don't want to use any interior muffling.
I'm playing post rock/jazz/alternative/electronic. looking for tight sound.

I've got a Superkick II w/ a Regulator on my tama superstar kick, and i love the combination. It's got a wide range of sounds available, and sounds equally good with and without interior muffling. IMHO, its one of the most versatile bass combinations on the market (along with EMAD and EQ3)

Personally, I'd be leaning towards the Superkick I, simply because I like single ply bass heads. It should be more versatile too.

I have had my SK I coupled with TAMA stock reso and Fiberskyn ambassador and had I nice thump with the stock reso but now I have a thunderous boom with the FA. If you have to have a port hole, be sure to not have it bigger than 4" (this is my opinion), regulator would effectively be the perfect match.

I have an EMAD on my Mapex 22x18 ProM and well...it's not that great. I have a pillow in there and it still rings all over. The emad is not worth it to buy at all. Has a plastic attack sound even with felt beaters (the only kind I use). I'm probably going to buy a Modern Vintage head for it and a Superkick I.

I use an Aquarian Superkick I on the batter with a regulator front (with 2x2" Bass-O holes)
Pro-M kits a re fairly versatile but given the size of your kick, Id be leaning towards single ply. Superkick II's are quite thick and may sound a little 'boxy' on a smaller kick.
