Hey all!
Was watching some TV earlier and there was a 70's band on, the drummer was playing a Rodgers kit - Oh my God!! How BIG and damn ugly are those Rodgers badges! They are huge! I appreciate this is only my personal opinion so apologies if I've upset any Rodgers enthusiasts out there!
Was just wondering what badges/logos people like or dislike, obviously people will tend to favour the brand they use but perhaps there is another company logo you really like or dislike on a shell or on a bass head? I play Gretsch and like the stop sign badge and obviously the round badge too ;-) but I do think the badge Premier use on a shell is pretty cool, with the hole being the middle of the 'P' (I used to play Premier too!)
Anyway I'd be interested to hear peoples opinions.
Cheers

There is no better badge collection than the Gretsch badge.

not so much a badge issue, but I absolutley despise drums covered in company stickers and stuff- 1 company logo on the bass head, as per stock heads, just fine- 13 Regal Tip, 7 Sabian, 9 Evans, 11 Pearl, and 16 Gibralatar stickers= obnoxious, tacky, useless, and devaluing!!!

I like the Premier badges. I also really like the DW badge. My favorite is ddrum.

Mapexs logo is too much like Tamas. I always hated that even though I like their kits

Not all Rogers badges are like that... I beleive that badge was from the 70's. DW has the best looking badge imo

I hate all badges, they take a way from the drum finish. The old Rogers had Chrome letters that looked something like the new top line kits from premiers, pretty cool. I have a silver sparkle yamaha oak custom and wish I could take them off if it wasnt for the four holes that would show.I also have a black starclassic maple and love the painted badges they have with the air holes to the back side of the drum. One of the best ideas yet. I also have the old style large Starclassic at the top, small tama bass drum logo at the bottom which I wish they would come back with, a lot nicer that that big TAMA . Mapex may have some nice drums but the bass drum logos and those huge drum badges are the most hideous thing I ever seen. It really came down to that when I decided to buy the yamaha kit. Some of these drum builder just don't get it.They don't have a clue.

Musta been a "Big R" badge. The Rogers "script" logo is very cool. "Round badge" Gretsch and "Keyhole" Ludwig are my favorites. The old Camco badge was discreet, so I like it, and the Ludwig "Monroe" badge is sort of discreet. And as much as I love Yamaha drums, their badges have about as much soul as a stereo amp number plate. Pulled those puppies right off my Recording Customs when I got 'em. (saved them, however, for the next owner).

I guess I'm still a fan of my old Slingerland badges. =) The whole vintage thing... Unfortunately when I bought my set the person that sold them to me had refinished them without the badges. Thankfully I still have them in a box.
