Dude, trust me, give us more info. How much money, what genre you play ,etc. You are gonna be "bashed" here because you don't know how many threads have said almost exactly what you have said.

Peace
AGR

P.S. Welcome to Drummerworld.

I personally player Ludwig. You might want to check out the birch kits from Ludwig, from what I understand they are very affordable. If I were to buy a new kit now I think I would look at Mapex. A few of my friends are playing Mapex and I am very impressed with the quality for a resonable price.

Contact Shane at the drum shop in Portland, Maine (http://www.drumsforless.com/index.php)

They are blowing out Sonor Force 2005's and 3005's for almost nothing. They have full birch kits (2005) with 8,10,12, 14, 22 plus snare (or 10,12, 14, 16, 22 plus snare) and hardware (2 boom stands, pedal, snare stand and hihat stand) going for around $700 shipped to your door. They won't last long, so if interested, get in touch with him now. These are really nice kits for that price (100% birch shells) and Sonor makes excellent drums.

I've heard good things about the ddrum kits, and most of them should be in the price range that your looking for. So i would defiantly take a good look at those. Are you just starting out or have you been playing for a while?

Are you going to need cymbals as well? If so I would reccomend something used. A friend of mine bought a cheap no-name kit new thinking he would get going really cheap. Kit ($299) + cymbals (B8 pack $250) + decent heads (Remo Pack $89) + taxes He was very quickly over $800.

Yes,I will need to buy cymbals, but the musci store I take bass lessons at has an old 21 inch Zildjian Rock Ride for $135 U.S. and they have alot of Sabian crashed for $100 or less and they have some nice hi-hats for not alot so i might be able to squeeze under my limit of $900.That is,once i get the money.
