although i love great deals, i am gonna pass on this one. But thought i would pass it along to the group. I dont know anything about it, but the price makes it at LEAST worth an email or phone call.

whoa, can't top that, I was considering this one for a time, but then decided no (can't risk spending the $ with some job stability issues)- http://www.musicgoround.com/gear/inventorydetails.asp?id=439316

well, here is a pic of the kit. I dont know what year they are -- all that i know is that he still has them and they are black in color. are they long lugs? can anyone tell the year from this pic?

what would you all do? i dont know much about mapex -- is this too good to pass up?

Can you ask for more pics?

Definitely ask for more pics before you take the plunge. The older Orion kits are very nice as well, but I wouldn't buy that kit based on those (very poor) pictures alone. I think you also have to keep in mind that you already have at least one pro-level kit and whilst I'm not suggesting that you can have *too* many drums, you're not in desperate need of a quality kit seeing as you have the DW's.

Seems like a very good deal, I played a recent version of the Orion some months ago and it sounded very good, especially the bassdrum was a beast. But since those seem to be a bit older I'd wait for better pictures to decide.
