Hmm to me the sonor would be better quality drums. Plus with a 24 inch bass i find it really difficult to get a decent position of your rack tom. Your either putting it off to the side with a seperate clamp or stand if you have a virgin bass drum, or your putting it 6-8 inches above your snare. The flow when your doing fills jsut isn't as smooth. I'd go with the sonor.

I do not think you will be very happy with a 13'', they are very hard to tune, and either 12'', or 14'' would sound better I think.

Just a little side note: The snare on the tama is 14''. Stock snares are allways (99,99%) 14''. I think the Sonor sounds really good btw.

I bought them at a music store as a complete kit with hardware. They said it was a rock kit(oversized) I did see one the 3007 lineup the same setup on there website. But you have to order them by the shell.

I like Tama's (hence my name). My favorite brand. Good quality drums and hardware. IC's and there stands are excellent also. Sonor is awesome too, good mounting systems and good quality drums. I really don't think its a good idea to compare brands though, you really can't compare them, even though they are all drums and hardware and everything else. I mean really, why? Saying such and such is better than such and such isn't very smart unless you have alot of excellent points to back up what your saying. Because some is gonna come along and say the opposite of what your saying and then a big arguement erupts. But then again if your talking flat out better such as Sabian Hand Hammered cymbals verses Camber or any other really sucky unknown brand name, then I guess you could compare. But otherwise, I don't see why you would want to.

Peace

For the $750 on ebay....the 3005 hands down...you will never here of any quality issues with Sonor...ever

A great kit, for a lot less $$$ than most.....A 3005 will be with you for years...and continue to impress

How much did it cost, your so lucky you found that I would get the rock sizes from sonor I would take it in a heartbeat. Am I the only one who thinks sonor needs to come out with a 1 up 2 down or a 4 piece sizes?

Out of these two kits, I'd go for the Tama, but in different configurations. 12", 14", 16" toms with a 22" kick and 14" would be great. I prefer the sound of the Superstar's compared to the Sonor kit.

I'd go with the Tama, but only because of lack of experience with Sonor, Pearl, DW and so on... I've only tried Yamaha and Tama, and Tama seems the best that can exist. Here in Singapore, can only get Yamaha, Tama and if lucky, Pearl...

I think I'm one of the few here without my own drumkit. But I use the drums in my church sanctuary, since its just a hop from my house. It's quite a full-kit, basically Tama (Starclassic I think) and Zildjian cymbals, and Evans drumheads, though the snare is by Yamaha and the high-hat is by Paiste. So that's why I'm most likely to stick with Tama and Zildjian. I just find them superior...

I can't speak for the Tama, but I can for the Sonor. You will not regret going with the 3005...they are great drums for the money.
