If you haven't stopped by lately, I'd like to invite everyone to visit my site ( http://www.cymbalcellar.com ), as I have made some great new additions lately.

My goal is to try to offer something for everyone, and I felt that I needed more cymbals that would appeal to the Jazz drummers. In addition to some great vintage A Zildjians that I have acquired lately, I have also added a small group of newly created Johan cymbals, from fellow drummerworld.com member Johan VDS. While the offering is pretty small now (only 6 cymbals at this time), I'm certainly hoping to add more in the future.

Johan's masterful work is certainly on display with these fine instruments. His countless hours of work shows in their beautiful sound and appearance.

Certainly worth a listen, in my opinion.

Oh, another change I made lately was the addition of the 'bell depth' and 'bow depth' measurements. I haven't filled in the data for a lot of the previously listed cymbals yet, but all recent listings have the data included.

Thanks for visiting!

Can you tell what a N. American b20 cymbal is. What brand or brands.

"N. American B20 Cymbals" is referring to either a Sabian or Zildjian cymbal. I wanted to make sure the cymbals listed on the site were from a top quality B20 alloy.

I still love your web business there. Cymbalcellar is a great concept, sound files and used cymbals! So many of those seem like great cymbals to have. I'll let you know if I need to ever sell anything.

I just bought one of your ol' A Zildjian crash/rides. Planning on putting some rivets in it, cos my trumpet player keeps telling me he feels "naked" when he solos. And that's the last thing I want.

I have ordered twice from your site ( 2.nd time today!), and I have wondered if you could make more that one recording per cymbal?
Especialy on the ride cymbals, one recording with strokes on different places, and one with a swing beat, or something?

Hey, look. . . this thread popped back up!

Regarding the recordings. Originally I had some 'cymbal alone' and 'Cymbal with a kit' soundfiles. But the 'kit' soundfiles didn't sound very good, so I went back to the cymbal alone.

On the soundfile I do I typically try to play the cymbal with different strokes, different tempos, and in the bow, bell, and on the edge, so you can hear a variety of sounds on each soundfile.

I'v got a K custom fast crash, K dark thin crash and an A medium thin crash from cymbalcellar and they're the nuts. I'm selling on the A because it doesn't fit in with the rest but all the same. Cymbalcellar is such a well priced and reliable service, and cheap international postage as well (relative to basically anyone else). :-)

I'm curious as to why you've got all the vintage hi-hats split up. I like to go to cymbalcellar every once in a while just to hear what old cymbals sounded like since every company now has their own idea of what vintage cymbals sounded like.

Well you're very welcome. I assume you mean to the DTB? I just put that there to help people, and nothing I could say would be more interesting or helpful. Hope it helps!

The HiHats that I have listed alone are ones that I had lying around that didn't have a good match (because of size, stamp type / era, etc). I guess unless they sound fantastic together, I will not put together an unmatched pair. I think there's a better chance that someone out there might be looking for a good match for their hat.
