i'd go with a dw. they're really reliable.or if you can deal with a non-virgin kick, go with pacific by dw. i had one, it kicked toosh. they make a blue and natural in the LX series. and a silver sparkle in the CX series.

I believe he wasn't asking for advice which one to choose... but I might be wrong.

anyway, I'm not selling :p

Hey, if your looking for a GMS kit lidrum.com (Long Island Drum Center) has a killer deal on a GMS SE with hardware and a Sabian cymbal pack. I think I remember seeing it under "special offers". I hope this helps.

well... SOMEBODY would. that person must be either VERY lucky or VERY unlucky.

I'm from Poland, so my advices will be rather unuseful :p anyway, ebay is such a great thing...

Sorry,
Tried to find the place to post.
Yes - Ebay.
I have been bidding on two nice sets, and it seems that at the very last minute if you don't bid high enough, someone else gets it like 1 sec before it ends, drives me crazy.
after loosing on two this past weekend, I figured I would try elsewhere.

I will check out that site for GMS , Thanks Guy's!!

JRH7,
Thanks, I searched the site but could not find the GMS sets.

Thanks for your help.

I will just keep searching, I am not in any rush although every time I go to Guitar Center and play a Maple set, well its hard going back to a Phillipine Mahogany set, my ears can tell the difference.

Found a Used DW Collectors Series set at Guitar Center, had them set it up and played it for over an hour, Really like the sound, The reason I did not grab it, is it has an 12-13-16-18 and a 18x24 Bass Drum, BIG sound, Great for Rock, but what do you guy's think?
I was wanting a 8-10-12-14-16 and 18x22.
I don't play in a Band. But I play at least an hour or two Daily, sometimes more and want a good sound.

Would you use these in a Jazz setting ever?
Not that I play Jazz but I like all different Music and in my lessons have played them all.
To add an 8 from DW is not cheap.

Let me know what your thoughts are.

Thanks
Rick

Update,
Just bought a DW set on Ebay, hope to have it by next week.
Question, I had just Put New Heads on my Ludwig set just a few weeks ago, Is it okay to take them off and put them on the DW set I just purchased, the sizes are the same, or since they were already tightened will that be a mistake?
Any suggestions would be great thank you.

I dont think it would hurt to put them on another set. To save some money and maybe not time, I would try them and see how they sound, but first I would try the ones coming on the set you just bought. They may be fine for a while.

Sorry for all the posts:
Since I just bought that kit on ebay, I wont be grabbing the one at Guitar Center, I hope I made the right choice.
Guitar Center in Naperville Has the following Used DW set.
It is the DW wrap in Black Oyster 18x24 Bass 12-13-16-18 Toms and they do have the matching snare sold seperately. The Set is Going for$1999.00.
Ask for A.J. or Andy, I think it sounds fantastic, the sizes and the color are the only thing that kept me from buying it.
The Phone number 630-375-1466 ask for A.J. or Andy.
The Picture in my Avatar is the one from Ebay that I just Bought.

Thanks again

Okay,
I received the DW Collectors Series set that I purchased on ebay, Absolutely Amazing Sound and Beauty on this Drum set is unbelievable, it looks Brand New, I put New Top and Bottom heads and tuned them up, took me about six hours. went with Evans EC2 Batter Heads and Evans Genera Resonant Heads, the Bass Drum got an Evans EMAD batter and Resonant head, it has such a beautiful sound!!! Well worth the extra money for a high end kit.
Thanks for all the help!!!!
