Hey all,

I'm in an apartment situation, and my standard pads are not cutting it. They're fine for rudiments and linear exercises, but I can't get enough sound seperation between pads to tighten up my grooves and independence work.

Any recommendations for electronics? I know the Yamahas come in at around $800-1,000, and that's the price range I'm looking to stay in...

Thanks!

Hi, I don' have the luxury of your $US currency and therefore have to pay a lot more for items than you do. However if your looking at saving money and it's only for practice I bought a set of legend electronic drums. The heads on these things are hard and noisy but I cut out my soundoff pads and held them in place with gaffa tape and now this
cheap drum kit is nice and quiet and feels really good and you don't lose any sensitivity with the pickups.

Remember, sometimes is what you don't do that makes you sound better.

Roland TD3's are right at a grand and good bang for you're buck. I have the TD6 (the next model up) but they run around $1,500 but if you could spring the extra 500 it's well worth it. Blessings........
