Hey guys,
I find that i often lose my sticks when im playing usually due to sweating. I just wondered how many of you put grip tape on your sticks and if its beneficial?
Cheers,
Olly

I use Regal Tip sticks, and they have a thick coating on them so it grips right to your hands. I never have a problem dropping sticks. But if you sweat a lot, it will get slippery. You might want to try a stick that has a compleatly raw finish. Just about every stick company makes them. Regal Tip's are called Butt Naked, Vater's are called Nude, and Pro Mark has The Natural. Or just try grip tape, but if you play with a thin stick, it will put a lot of extra weight on the butt end of your sticks.

Two things that work. Either buy sticks with no clear finish on them, NUDE, or sand off the finish at the top part of the stick yourself. I use 1 inch coaches tape or cloth adhesive tape. It it easy to spiral on and doesn't leave any residue when you take it off.
electrical tape works... i've used it for marching, mainly for looks. also, comes in many colors. just check home depot

This Vater stick tape is the best ever. I'm extremely happy w/ it. I have several rolls in different colors. No sticky hands... it doesn't come off... it feels excellent. Try a roll and you'll see for youself.
