View Full Version : DW Go Anywhere Kit
I'm thinking of investing in a DW Go Anywhere practice kit since I have not got room for anything bigger. Also I want to buy a cheap double bass pedal so I can work my feet at the same time (doing singles, paradiddles) but I'm not going to incorporate it into my playing. Has anyone had any experience with the DW kit or is there a better alternative?

I saw it at my music shop for 160 bucks Canadian. It's a pretty great kit too. Quiet and feels real nice!
Anyone eles have some experience with this kit?
So I take it that this kit is not very popular ....

I don't know about popularity but personally I don't know many people who warm on these kinds of kits. It looks really cool though I'd love to have something like that to cart around.
Interesting idea. I would guess you could convert those pads to electronic drums rather easily.
Well ... I just bought one today and am quite excited about it! Thing with me is, I like my drums reasonably low and I also play open handed - meaning that my hi-hat is more less the same height as the snare, so height is not an issue for me. I'm also going to buy a hi hat stand and some hi hats to go along with it so that it is more realistic!
Hehehe... I'm actually building my own version of something like this using the bottom half of a cymbal stand, some vic firth practice pads, and gibralter accessories attachments. So far I have one pad, on accessory attachment, and one vic firth pad. The other two should fit nicely. I'm also going to pick up a couple of hansenfutz practice pedals.
Now, when my music room is boiling from the summer heat, I can just mozy downstairs in the cool air ( heck, even the back deck for that matter ), and kick some serious grooves.
$20 x 3 for gibralter attachment.
$20 x 3 for pads
already have cymbal stand ( I use the very bottom base since its pretty stable ).
Thats $120 total and its rock solid.
What I don't like about DWs kit is the fix position of the bass drum. That position just doesn't work for me.
Yeah, bummer about the bass drum position. Alternatively I could invest in a separate bass drum pad, that way the thing won't rattle as much when I hit it. But right now I am after a new pedal and a stickbag :P They look so cool lol People are looking at you like 'who is that guy?'
