I went to Guitar Center today and I was amazed with sound of the Wuhan 18" with rivets on it. It produced that really awesome white noise I was looking for. I already have a Wuhan 18" but I was just wondering if I can bring it to Home Depot and have them make rivets on it.

You will need the rivets of course, but I always start with a fresh drill bit. I don't know if home depot will drill it for you.

Just a note... The regular kind of rivits you get at like home depot wont get you that sound... And I wouldnt trust a hardware store to do that kind of drilling.... Here is a link on another forum that will help ya out.....

I bought rivets and had my husband drill the first hole and I drilled the other 3, then I put the rivets in myself.

hey i just posted a thread about wuhan a min ago and then this one caught my eye. how do those wuhan 18" crashes sound? im interested in the dark tone they are said to have and how loud they are and thair price.
how do they sound? and because they are hand made that does mean they all sound differnt? so in the future i should not buy off the interent?
but yah as for riveting i wouldn't go to the home depot......
thanks
sparmann........
btw anybody know why they put the silent "t" in home depoT? it makes no scence to me. who agrees? (prob no one)

There isn't really a specific reason, its just not a dePOT, its a dePOE. Ask the french, it would seem to be their fault
I think I might try to rivet one of my chinas, but not now

Nope 3 more inches over the last couple of days... But 50 to 60 degrees over the weekend.
Yea that is a great DIY. I used the process to make a sizzleride just like Ginger... LOL
