The less expensive group of three are over 600.00 so way out of my price range.

I have the masai snare and have fallen in love with it. You can really get just about any sound you want out of it, not to mention it is very sexy ;-)... beautiful finish and fabulous sound. Very well made too. I paid about 550 for mine at Guitar Center.

haha, I didn`t even know that there are FOUR types of them! thanks. :-D
the sound clips sound neat but when I tried this Bubinga one on the MP music fair it couldn`t impress me at all. It is just not my sound.
Though the Bell brass and the Stainless steel snares sound okay.

Maybe I am wrong, but those lugs look a lot like this one (shape only)

Personally I prefer the valkyrie, I like the birch sound and the name Valkyrie has a certain X-factor to it that makes it sound sexy. and the finish is just awesome. But it's way above my budget.

I went to the tama website and listened to all the warlord snares and went to guitar center and hit it. I personally perfer the valkyrie its extra thick maple shell is killer plus it looks amazing. But i dont have $600 to spend on a snare.
