Attached is a painting that i produced for my GCSE art class. If you dont know already its Buddy Rich, a legendary drummer. About the thread title, im not being big headed i just wanted to get as many people as possible to look at it. Ohh and sorry if this thread is in the wrong catagory but i wasnt realy sure which one to put it in. It took me about 9 months to complete overall. Its made from 42 tiles most of them painted in different ways (some the same) the picture is a bit iffy cause the tiles all reflected different amounts of light but...yea hope you like it. give me any criticism or advice, and feel free to ask any questions.
happy drumming........and painting!

Sweet! I had a roommate last year who did a great painting of Tony. It's still here, maybe I'll put a pic of it up.

that's awesome.

i had a friend years ago who specialised in making pictures from panels. but she used a photocopier and gradually would increase and tile a normale picture until it was the size of a tennis court.

Thanks everybody. Nutha, thats crasy! i would love to see any other painting anyone has of drummers or anything to do about drumming. Each tile on my painting is about 7cm x 7cm so the whole thing is about 42cm x 49cm. im quite proud of it and quit surprised myslef that it turned out that good!

That was a pleasant surprise. I did not expect to see something like that when I logged on. Well done indeed! I really like it.

Very cool lookin'. We should totally make a drum/drummer painting/art thread. I just finished making a sculpture of Ringo in my art class. It's not quite as professional-looking as your work but nonetheless I think I'll have to upload some pictures soon.

Man I would love to be able to paint and draw. A lot of my other family members are gifted in that way. Unfortunately I can hardly draw a straight line.

Well here's a hint from the artsy-fartsy: get a ruler. :)

Love that, did you have to explain to your class/teacher who it was etc?

Very cool bro but why the Newsapaper?? Seems the red rug or whatever it is would have made a better background than the paper.
