Here is my 1999 Performer kit with the new updated Starcast mounting system. This allows my toms to be placed closer together.

That is a really, really nice finish. Those new mounts look great, really minimal, unlike my Gretsch 10lb monsters.

Great looking kit!

That color is sharp.

I love the floating toms on the side. Looks so incredible.

How do you like the EC2s on it? Does it choke the volume and sound of the smaller toms?

That finish is ultra hot and i bet they sound great with those ec2's.

Specs on cymbals?

The EC2 heads are great. They don't choke the sound at all. They only reduce the ring. They are not a "muffled " head at all. Like a G2 in response and feel.
My kit consists of:
7x8, 8x10, 9x12, 11x14, 13x16 toms. 18x22 kick and a 5.5x14 or 6.5x 14 snare. I also have many other snare drums.
The 14" tom mount is on back-order, incase you noticed the suspended floors have the old mounts still on in the picture.
My cymbals consist of the HHX series which I can not tell you how much that series has swayed me over to the Sabian brand.
Hats: Stage, Groove and Proto-Type.
Crashes: HHXtreme, Stage, Studio.
Ride: 21"Dry, 21" Groove, 21" Proto-Type, 20" Stage.

Sanata Claus was kind enough to deliver a new Canon Rebel XTi Digital SLR for Christmas. Santa is a good guy.

Wow, what a big and beautiful kit. You didn't even have to mention the chrome cobra.

Your set looks great! I like the color and I know that five toms equals much fun.
How do you tune the 7, 8 and 9? Are you using set intervals or what. Enjoy, the set. Joey

Joey.
I tune all of my toms in the range where they can sing the most.
I usually tune the top heads on the lower side, not so much as they sound muddy but not to tight to choke the sound. All of my resonant side heads are higher in pitch than the batter side.

Well, I have to agree with the rest of the posts on this thread, that is one beautiful set of drums, the chrome with the finish, OUCH

I trust that they sound as good as they look. I'm undecided as to whether my next kit will be Pearl Masters or Tama Starclassic Maple, any opinion????
