I am extreamly tempted to swap my 22" 2002 Heavy Ride and 14" 2002 soundedge hats for a 22" Signature power ride and 14" signature soundedge hats... i like the 2002's but i think the sigs sound quite a bit brighter and i have already purchased 20" sig full crash, 19" sig power crash and 18" sig power crash and too me they are the best crashes i have ever played.... my question is do you think the price difference for the swap is worth it ???

I have a signature thin 18" china (about 8 years old I think, and if I recall I got it at some stores annual big blowout 50% off sale - 50% off their regular, not off msrp), and I think it sounds terrific, a china sound that integrates very well with other crashes. On the other hand, it no longer really has a place in my playing (or in my now 3 crash, 2 ride, 1 splash setup). I am probably gonna put it on the market pretty soon, but would still recommend at least that model, to anyone looking for a smooth (as chinas go) classy but reasonably powerful cymbal.

I have a 22" sig. power ride now, but im gonna sell it. It's way to bright and loud for me at the moment, I need a more versatile ride. It was great when I played loud music tho.

Where do you live?

That's two guys who say

"we're selling ours, but we swear they're actually good"

It looks doubtful, but it really is true. I just don't need a china.

Nope. Personally, I prefer the general sound of 2oo2s over Sigs. But, if you are looking for more "cut" in your cymbals, then maybe the Sig hats and ride are the way to go.

IN my country...Variance between 2002 and Signature is about USD70 difference between the 2 (when you buy them Brand New). Since you are swapping...I guess you have to top-up $$$$$$...say USD40 will be reasonable for each I guess

Heh, I'll swap you a crap load of K Customs for those Signatures if you decide they are too brite.

I'm pretty fond of the signature line. I have a sig. reflector dry ride and I absolutely love it, I want to swap my A Custom crash for a full crash, I already ahve a 2002 full crash and from the sound samples on paiste.com they go together pretty nicely.

I'd say something like this would come down to personal preference. Do you think it is? If you like the sigs more than your 2002s and think its worth it then go for it.

If you want a more versatile ride, go with the 22" Signature Full Ride.

I don't know about the hi-hat. But te 2002 rides I tried sounded better to my ears than the Sig's. But I'm not a paiste expert.
