I am having a very difficult time keeping my bass drum from moving.
I have it on a carpet, with the spurs on the third line facing outward. (yamaha stage custom)
The pedal (dw 4000) seems to be always coming off of the drum hoop. It's driving me nuts, I cannot get through a single song without having to move it back in place. I've fiddled with it so much, but I cannot seem to keep in there.
What are your suggestions, or what do you all do to keep it in place?
I miss my 9000 pedal, it was so much better, and never got out of place...

does your DW pedal also have spurs to tighten down, you may try those. Other than that the pedal isnt tight enough on the hoop if it keeps falling off

Sir,
Yes, It has spurs to tighten it down, and I always tighten the pedal to the hoop.
It seems to always come loose, and not only that, but the bass drum moves on me too.

Take a pic if your setup if it's convenient, maybe that will show us what's wrong because something isn't right. Make sure all the spurs on the BD and pedal are sticking out evenly and are sharp. If not get a dremmel style tool and make it happen. Also, what kind of carpet are you using? You want a rug that's thin (no fluff) and tough. It sounds like the pedal clamp isn't working properly so it might not be a matter of how tight you have it, it will always loosen. Try experimenting with it and test to troubleshoot the exact problem. Also, maybe a pad on the hoop for some extra thickness. That'll also prevent damaging your hoop. With a proper setup you could kick your bass drum and it shouldn't move. Keep us posted.

I'll try to post a picture sometime soon. I won't be going back to the studi ountil maybe tomorrow.
The carpet is fluffy, so i guess it doesn't stick well. But, I have beenplaying on that carpet for 3 months, and just a week ago it started doing that, but i guess you are right, ill buy a thin rug.
I never had problems with my 9000 pedal, I got the 4000 bc I know that DW has great products, but the 9000 never got loose on me. I guess thats why it costs a billion dollars. The 4000 has a good feel, but it is trash compared to the 9000. (you are probably wondering why I don't use the 90000, well, it got stoplen at a show.)
thank you all in advance for your input, this is a good forum

Huh, I've never seen those before. They look pretty neat and you could probably make them yourself.
