Finished these up last night and thought I'd post some pics. Vistalite pattern A three band rainbow. I bought the shells 6 months ago and have spent the time since cleaning the shells and sourcing parts. I hand polished the shells, lugs, and hoops. The tension rods and the screws and washers for the lugs are all new. NOS badges and grommets as well. The sizes are 9x13, 10x14, and 16x16. I'm still looking for a matching bass drum,22" or
24" (preferably 24").

The clear vistalites need some work but they came with all the lugs, mounts, etc. The shells wil need some TLC but overall it was a great deal. Sizes are 9x13, 10x14, 16x16,
16x18 and (not pictured) 14x24. These should keep me busy for a while. Full pics when they're completed.

Neat project! Keep us posted.

I've heard of Vistalite shells breaking at the mounts. Do you plan to use modern suspension-type mounts, or keep it historically authentic?

I do plan on using suspension mounts on both kits. I have them on myJellybean set and they work fine. I've never had issues with cracks at the monts, but I've seen many drums with cracks under the lug casings.

As far as pics of all the kits, I'll post a coupole below, but I plan on taking some very good quality pics this May (the school I teach at has a nice stage) once the clear vistalites are put together. Here is the rundown:

1. Ludwig Rocker Elite, Emerald Green (below)
2. Ludwig Super Classic, Purple Shadow w/ wood hoops (below, but shown without 18")
3. Ludwig Classic, Black Cortex w/28" kick (below x2)
4. Ludwig Rocker Elite, Chrome wrap w/ 24x24 kicks & 12x14 snare (no finished pics yet)
5. Ludwig Birch, Red sparkle w/ custom 24x22 kick (kick is maple)
6. Ludwig Vistalite, Jellybean, badges date the drums to 1974 (below)
7. Ludwig Vistalite, Pattern A, Red/White/Green ,still looking for a bass :(
8. Ludwig Vistalite, Clear currently under construction
