well i was playing the other day and i was like wow i havent go a new cymbal in what seems like FOREVER (really the end of december a few days after christmas) but then that was a ride and its been like a year since i got a crash and some one stole my 8'' wuhan splash (really sad someone was that desprate it was like 8 bucks) anyways i thinking about a new crash or splash

i want something really shimmery, bright and looks good. in a crash

i never have had a really good splash my wuhan never cut like i wanted it to so im up for suggestions

im thinking about an 18'' med to thin crash earthworks, glory, or mist-x

i will email jamie but i was just wondering what you guys think and maybe what you saluda owners think about your crashes and how you described them to jamie.

i have a set of mist x hats and love them but havent herd any of their other stuff so if you could help me out that would be great!

Really shimmery and bright.......either an 18 med-thin ...or....if you're looking for versatility.....look at a Full crash. I loooooooooooveeeeee mine!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

Splash......... Mist x also.......if you're looking for brightness in a splash...but it depends!

Report back!

My 18" Mist-X is a full crash but I'm not so sure I would describe it as shimmery. Kind of I suppose. It's definitely bright. It's full sounding though. It roars. I should be getting my next batch within the next month which will include an 8" Mist-X splash.

well yesterday i emailed him and he got back to me today. i think im gunna go with an 18'' mist-x with the earthworks finish that i love so Much. Ive herd some bad things about saluda and jamie not getting back to people for a while and maybe im just lucky but jamie has always been speedy and very very helpful

As I said in another post Dom.....you have to take things with a grain of salt. Every major manufacturer of ANY product will have customers with bad experiences, it's just the way it is ....focus on the good, ....Saluda's good reports FAR out number the bad!

18" medium thin crash w/ an earthworks??? what thickness did you decide to go with?

Jamie has probably answered 6 or 7 of my emails since Friday. Before that though it took him about a week to get back to me. Maybe the frequency was because it was the weekend, I'm not sure. But I spoke with him on the phone and he says he gets 1000's of emails a day, alot of them are spam that he doesn't know they are until they're opened, and that takes time to get through.

I am taking with a grain of salt, and as far as the negative experiences, they vastly underweigh the positives at this point.

I feel like a Saluda Junky already and I haven't even received the first cymbal, but I have 6 cymbals on plan after my first crash comes in. Can't wait :)

well i havent gone with anything yet...between homecoming on saturday then valentine's day my cash has been sucked dry. Well not really its only the order is only going to be $27 plus shipping but i have a clinic at friends university and need my crash for that (they chant go FU at games cool) and decided that i would like to order a splash at the same time so it might be next month before i get my order in.

I plan on getting 18'' mist-x earthworks finish med thick and im pretty sure i have no idea what i want in a splash so im just gunna ask you guys who have them what do you recommend (i play jazz/rock/funk) i just know i want it to be a splash not a watered down crash.

For you guys that have saluda splashes what do you have?

sorry for not getting back sooner

Hey Dom, sweet! I have full crashes, a medium thin,....and a "rock" medium-heavy...if you have questions,...let me know. (MistX)

I have an 8" Mist X splash. It's "splashy" ...cutting...with crisp w/a little 'watery shimmer' to it ...definately not a watered down crash.

Again....if you can describe what sound you want out of it....he'll make it!

well i used to have an 8'' wuhan and it was great but it didnt have the volume i needed but it was like 9 bucks it was stolen a few months ago so the 10'' wuhan i got with it had a dent and sounded horrid i am thinking about getting an 8'' would a 10'' be better? opinions
