I've got two 18" crashes: Zildjian K med-thin and thin. I love them, but they're a bit too trashy. I mostly like how dark they are.

what would an equally dark, but less trashy cymbal be to these??

Bosphorus! They rule! Old Zildjian A's are also cool.

Amen to that brother. I've got a 16" traditional medium and i'm looking at an 18" medium thin traditional to add. Nice!!

For example. Also Istanbul would be a brand which you should check out, Mehmets and Agops.

But my real favourite in this case would be the Sabian AAX Dark Crash or Studio Crash. Great sound, pretty dark and not very trashy. haha, check it out, maybe you will like it.

just my 0.00001$...

Yeah, I know what you mean. It is very hard to find some dark AND clean sounding (non-trashy) cymbals in the Istanbul and Bosphorus stock...in my opinion.
At least almost all of those Istanbul and Bosphorus cymbals are hand-hammered which makes them very unique sounding...

Maybe you wanna check out some AAX. Don`t know if you like their sound...

You could listen to them on www.sabian.com/english/Webmayhem/soundcheck.cfm to get a roughimpression of them...

*cheers back*,

i have what ur looking for. i bought it the other day (my pocketr is still burning)

a paiste signature dark energy crash mark1

i goty the 19". the 17" sounds amazing as well. in the shop i was trying the 17" with an 18" k med thin k and the 2 matched perfectly the k was slightly trashy while the paiste was richer and more colourful

what a cymbal
