Hey guys this is my first post and i thought i would just whore out my own kit.

Note: There is a Mapex M birch in Transparent Cherry coming in 4 days!

here is a request. Nice finish! How does that ''virgin'' bass sound? Better, worse or not any different from with the hardware?

I refinished the kit myself in a cherry stain and looking at these pictures...it looks like i have a stave bass drum:p

Astro drums (by Taye) in Cherry stain.

10x8.5, 12x9, 16x16, 22x16

14x5.5 Black Panther Deep Forest Walnut Snare

Dixon Rack (2 sided) with dixon boom arms. (Just as good as gibby for a fraction of the price)
Janus Transmission Hat system

19" Sabian AAXplosion Crash
18" Sabian AAXplosion Crash
18" Zildjian A China Boy Low
16" Sabian Paragon Crash
14" Sabian AA Flat Hats

Toms: Clear G2 over clear G1
Bass: Evans EQ3 over Coated Amb (6" Holz)

Yea, .. I have no clue whats going on wiht MX, ... I have no contact with mods or anything, regardless I can't wait for the new kit Jay.

Definitly looking forward to seeing the Mapex M!

PS: How do you like the Black Panther Walnut? I am very impressed of the snare drums I tried and played till now...

The snare is great..lots of body, tone and crack. It's wonderful and well worth $500CDN.

But im not diggin the clear snare head, why not coated?

I opted for the clear head because i wanted something a little brighter...i'm not sure if i wanna stay clear or not...maybe i'll go clear CS dot when i get the new kit.

Wow, i would have (almost) guessed it was a re-finish. Very good job. Nice cymbals also. Welcom to the forums!

The heavy ride is really pingy and quite dry. It's got a strong bell and it cuts like hell.

I'm pretty sure they still make them...but you never know.

And to DC: I dunno if thats a compliment or an insult:P
