Alright here's my confusion, I recently bought a remo PS3 for my Stage Custom Nouveau an it doesn't seem to fit right. When I put the hoop over the head to tension it, it doesn't seem to sit on top right. There appears to be a little ridge the around the entire circumference above the metal hoop/edge of the head that is about 1/8" too big to fit under the ring. The sales rep in the music store said that I just need to seat the head, being able to feel the bearing edge under the skin. Well after tightening the head significantly and busting one of my lugs, nothing has changed, as when played the hoop vibrates where the small gap is. Any advice or solutions from similar experinces would be much appreciated. Thanks!

For both of you I suggest to contact REMO customer service and if they do not replace them just change brand because you wont get any future good customer service. It's probably a bad batch of PS3, REMO is known for bad quality control.

What do you suggest we purchase instead? I've heard good things about the EMAD, but the Superkicks seem to be decent too...

Aquarian Super Kick is what I would suggest. I use the SK 1. I prefer that one over the 2 ply version. mind_drummer is right. Remo is more popular for bad heads than anything else. After using their brand for almost 30 years, I have given up on them altogether. If your not up for Aquarian, try something fro Evans.

Superkick I is absolutely awesome and versatile. If ever you have problem with any Aquarian heads, remember there's the best customer service to back you up ;-)

Have you measured the bass drum?

I measured the hoop diameter and it seems to be too small to fit the head, I think that I'll just go to a different head, its not the end of the world, it seems the SK is getting the vote here...
