Nice kit, nice finish. Cymbals are a little high up for me, but if its working for you stay with it...

I like all those cymbals stacked up near the hi-hat, what kind of hardware did you use for that? I've always wanted to get cymbals stackers like that, and what kind of heads do you use for the snare?

Interesting cymbal arrangement with lots of things to hit!

I like the idea of making your own trash hats too, hadn't occurred to me before.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I'm pushing 6'3" and i sit pretty high on my stool, so that would explain the high cymbals hehe.

I picked up a pearl cst 80 cymbal stacker and used it with a cymbal arm, with the original cymbal arm holding the trash hats, and the extension going from the hats to the two splahes, which are just stacked with a felt inbetween.

That PDP snare is great, it has a really nice crack when tuned up high but doesn't loose any body. Its perfect for rock, and works just as well in funk/latin/jazz as well. Needless to say with the wood hoops the rim shots are ear ringing :)
At the moment I have a CS Dot on the batter and just the stock PDP reso, I'll probably swap it out for a snare side amb soon.

The signed drumhead was from Dom Famularo, I was lucky enough to see him, Tommy Igoe and Thomas Lang at a clinic ab otu the middle of last year. Dom didn't stop smiling the entire show, man he's such an inspirational guy.

Solaris,

Beautiful kit. I especially like the cymbal selection and the all maple snare. I play a Yamaha Anton Fig maple snare and am also using a CSDot on the batter...it does seem to work well with the maple snare. They do crack when tuned up.

Nice looking set up all around!
