I grouped them together, because they are similar colors, and this helps prevent against having 20 million threads for every color. I wanted to group blue and green together, but i didnt think of that till after i made the thread.

anyays, if your gunna reply, try to include a picture of your drums (if they are one of the colors) if you can. try to keep the comments to a minumum, and KEEP THE PICTURES GOING

There wasn't a thread for GREEN, so I guess this is the one.
Here is my Turqoise Maple Yamaha Maple Custom, with a Pearl Mahogany Omar Hakim snare:

By the way, Karl: I love that Basix Short Stack kit you have! I tried one at the shop where I got my drums, and they where awesome!

Green is tied in with Blue and purple (purple isnt in the title either) i ditn realize it would take up less space if i put similar colors in one thread, as opposed to making 20 threads for each color, when i made it. I edited it at the top, asking for a mod to change the title.

Anyways, there is some REALLY nice looking kits in this thread.

dddddownbbbbeat orgasm time!!!!!!

WOW is that ever sweet ?!?!? is that a recover or all original?!?!? WOW WOW WOW!!

Thanks! It's original with the exception of the Rail Consolette and Tom & Spur Mounts, which appear to have been upgraded shortly after Ludwig offered these newer style parts. It now has the ratchet "sunburst" style RC as opposed to the Clock Face and the Mounts are the Ball type as opposed to the Ring style, but the Mount issue is an internal thing.................

This Kit came into a friend's Drum Shop late last Fall so I got the call to recondition it, which is what I do now that I'm retired and is how I came about the 1970's upgrade date. You get a feel for these things after stripping out a number of vintage Kits...........

It wasn't my intention to buy it from him, just "clean" it, but after getting it home and getting a better look at it I mentioned to my wife that if it looks half as good stripped out I may make an offer. Her reply was "We don't need anymore drums"................

Well, after stripping the last shell and doing "my thing" removing tons of grey-like crud from the wraps in the process I realized that this one was a keeper (the matching snare helped) so told my wife that I was going to make an offer. After seeing it cleaned (the pic's really don't do it justice) she said "It's red, I like red, it looks like Dorothy's Ruby Slippers in the Wizard of Oz." Bless her heart, from we don't need anymore drums to I like red!

Once again, thanks! It took a month of working approx. eight hours a day, seven days a week to bring it back to the way it is now with the shells getting eight coats of a high quality wax and everything else, right down to the swivel nuts, two, which is my normal procedure. After using the metal polish and getting everything clean I do my best to seal it up to slow down the oxidation process so it stays lookin' good as long as possible...........

I'm just about to strip out the Natural Maple Kit pictured with the Downbeat and have every expectation that it will come back looking like it did when it rolled out of Ludwig's Damen St. Factory. Once I get whatever crud it picked up over the years off the lacquer finish it should shine brightly and the lugs, well, without even polishing & waxing them they look like NOS. I hope the Downbeat doesn't get jealous.........................
