This is the place to post your purple, blue, or green drums! even if its just a snare, it counts.

So ive always been a fan of blue, and blue-ish green drums. I think they look great. post them here. comments are fine, but try not to let it get out of hand, and if you have blue drums, post a picture (or more) along with the comment. KEEP THEM GOING.

I have TONS of more pictures where this came from, but i figured id just sort through them and pick the best ones. Even then, its still a ton of pictures. The pics go from when i first got the kit, to right now, to when i got the new heads, to when i was renting my double pedals out to a friend, etc. so your gunna see slight differences in the pictures, but its cool.

The kit is a 6 Piece PDP FS blue to black fade kit. 8,10,12, and 14" toms, with a 22x18 bass, and 14" snare.

Meinl MCS: 16" Crash (which yes, is broken), 20" ride, and 14" hats
Wuhan: 12" china
Ziljian: Zxt 8" splash

As far as hardware, the pedals are the yamaha DFP9310, aka the flying dragons. I call them tamahas, because i have iron cobra beaters on there, to replace the marshmellow beaters they came with. The throne is a really comfy DW i got for a good price

As far as the stands, there just the PDP stands that i got with the kit, exept for the hi hat stand, which is basicly the same, but 2 legged.

Other little toys: LP Rock Cowbell, and Tamborines

In one or two of the pictures, youl notice an 18" sabian china, and iron cobras. Those arent mine.

anyways, heres the pics: (theres a TON of them)

Dude Sketchy-

You really LOVE to show off your drums, don't you? They're nice drums, and they look like they'd be fun to play on, but seriously. This site and on the other forum, do you need to post them so often? I mean, they're in your sig too, (at least on the other forum). I'm not flaming or trying to be negative, but I've seen these pictures several times already! :-p

Ok anyway, here's my 98ish export kit. I refinished it last year, and this shot is right after putting em back together. Since these shots, I've gotten a Superkick 2, and an Evans EQ2 reso. It sure does sound like a canon. I love it! The toms - ehhh not so much...oh well.

I picked these up for $50, cleaned them up and sold them for $400. They were a student model from the 80s, so they looked great with that deep blue, but sounded pretty student-y.

Well, if i made the thread to see blue, purple, and green drums, but didnt post my blue kit, would it still be considered showing off? In real life, im a really modest person, but i do like to take pictures of my drums, and im pretty proud of them, after working for the money to get them.

Anyways, that looks like a pretty tight space you play in. And the cymbal on the right, from the drivers seat perspective, looks like its rubbing against the wall? anyways, the new finishing looks pretty cool. What was the old finish? cant really remember from drumdogs.

Sorry if I came off snotty before. I guess it's hard to convey jest over the internet... And, yeah I would be proud of those drums too.

Anyway, yeah it is a tight space. I live in an 800 square foot apartment, so my wife is good enough to let me set em up. The cymbal wasn't quite hitting the wall, but I don't actually use that cymbal anyway. It's a 22" Sabian china, with like 4 cracks in it that I got for free. I really hate the cymbal, but this was the day I got it, so I was trying it out.

Oh and this is what my drums used to look like: http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b58/tizzdizz/Refinish%20Drums/DSC02684.jpg

thats cool. So pretty similar color, but more of a laquer/matte over the wrap. It looks better, by the way.

So how does playing in the aparment go as far as neighbors complaining? You have to play with silencers all the time? You can only play for certain hours?

These are my purple Slingerlands. They were custom made for Prince in the early 90's by Pat Foley. I picked them up from Gabe Gonzales, who used them when he played for George Clinton/P-Funk. Foley confirmed that he made the drums by looking at the hand-numbered serial number plates which were in his handwriting.

Notice a couple of strange things about the kit. First off, they are DW sized, with 10", 12", and 14" toms, and a 16" suspended floor tom. Slingerland did not typically make the toms in these sizes. Second, notice the odd lug configurations. The two small toms have 5 lugs, while the two larger toms are 8 lugged. The bass is 10 lug, which is pretty normal for Studio Kings. Third, notice the copper plated hardware and the cast hoops on all the toms. Very curious, but they look very cool in person.

I have used these in the studio, and I think they are the finest sounding drums I have ever used to record. Even without any effects, these drums just have pure tone and presence.

I played Slingerlands back in the 70s and 80s, and I was looking for a kit that could replace the ones I had back then. When these came up, I just couldn't resist! They are hanging on DW stands and are topped with a collection of Zildjian cymbals. I have a bunch of different snares I use with the kit, one is a purple wrapped DDrum that looks cool with the kit. My favorite is a old (1960) era Pearl 5x14 in chrome that has a crack that complements the drums quite well.

Hope you enjoy the pictures.
